Toronto - January 16, 2013 - Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative, a leading Florida-based electric service provider, has deployed Field ID's industry-leading inspection and safety compliance software to improve efficiency, training management and compliance across its operations.
Gulf Coast Electric, part of the national Touchstone Energy Cooperatives
alliance, now uses Field ID for the iPhone and the web to manage safety
and compliance for approximately 75 employees serving 2,500 miles of
power lines in Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Jackson, Walton and Washington
counties and in the municipalities of Wewahitchka, Ebro, Lynn Haven,
White City, Fountain and Southport.

Previously,
the cooperative used traditional paper-based inspections and
spreadsheets to manage safety records. With Field ID, Gulf Coast
Electric has digitized employee certifications. Equipment such as
personal protective gear and fire extinguishers is inspected using
smartphones and tracked within Field ID's cloud-based system. Workers,
crews, vehicles and equipment can be electronically identified by badge,
ID or serial number to ensure complete compliance with relevant
training requirements or regulations.
